2024 LEARN TO SWIM

Enrolment Process

Enrolment into our Learn to Swim program is confirmed upon completion of the online Enrolment Form, wherein you acknowledge and accept the following Terms and Conditions. To secure your spot, a $50.00 deposit is required. Please note that positions are not reserved without this deposit. If an assessment is necessary to determine your child's ability, the T/L Aquatics, Health, and Wellbeing team will contact you to schedule an assessment.

Re-enrolment Procedure

For existing Learn to Swim BARC students, re-enrolment for the next term is automatic, with students rolled into classes for the following term. Teachers will inform you if your child is ready to progress to a higher level. Information detailing Term dates, lesson times, and fees will be provided. A deposit is required each term to secure your spot, and payment must be received by the final registration due date to confirm your re-enrolment. Timely payment is crucial, as failure to do so may result in the release of your spot to interested clients from our waiting list.

Payment Terms

Upon payment of the $50.00 deposit, your place in the upcoming term is secured. You are required to pay the remaining amount within the first two weeks. Full payments can be made at reception, or you can discuss a payment plan with the Team Leader Wellbeing, Aquatics, and Programming by emailing gym@sporties.com.au with the subject line "payment plan request." Payment plans are only negotiable for the applicable Term.

Cancellation and Refunds

Prior to Term Commencing:

A full refund will be issued, and your contract voided if written notification is provided before the term starts. However, a $65 administration charge will apply for each withdrawn student.

Once Term Commences:

Refunds due to medical reasons will only be given with a valid Medical Certificate, and they will be issued from the date the certificate is received, covering the remaining lessons within the applicable period. No refunds will be issued without a valid Medical Certificate.

Cancellation of Classes due to Teacher Illness or Unavailability

If a lesson is canceled due to teacher illness or unavailability, a credit for the affected lesson(s) will be issued. The credit can be applied to reduce term fees in the following term, or a refund can be provided if your child is not continuing in lessons.

Lesson Cancellations

Class occupancy is a significant factor in determining whether classes will run. If your chosen class is not 60% full, a Swim School staff member may contact you to transfer you to an alternate class. All lesson cancellations are at the discretion of Management.

Non-Transferable

Lessons cannot be transferred to other individuals or family members, converted to other products or services, or rolled over to a new term unless a valid medical certificate is provided.

Public Holidays

Swim classes do not run on public holidays during the school term or holiday periods.

Swimming Attire

All non-toilet trained students must wear waterproof Aqua Nappies. Goggles are recommended for all students, except babies.

Parental Supervision

Children (12 years and under) must be actively supervised by a parent/guardian at all times. The use of mobile phones or other devices is prohibited during lessons or in changing rooms, toilets, and shower areas.

BARC staff have a duty of care for students only during scheduled swimming lessons. Parents or guardians must provide active supervision before and after scheduled lessons. Non-member students and parents are not allowed in the pool before or after class without a swim pass.

Photography and Video Footage

Photography and video footage are not permitted, except on occasions when swim school staff may request permission to take photos for social media. In such cases, a Media Release Form will be provided for your consent.

Teachers and Time Changes

BARC reserves the right to cancel or change classes and instructors, and students may be moved to a different class if necessary. While efforts are made to maintain consistency, BARC cannot guarantee instructors or class times from term to term.

Waiting Lists

If Learn to Swim classes are full, we cannot maintain a waiting list. Information on class availability will be provided through social media and in the venue.

Healthy Swimming

Follow NSW Health recommendations for healthy swimming. Do not swim if you or your child have had diarrhea in the past two weeks. Shower before entering the pool, and avoid swallowing pool water.
