BARC Bush Nippers Program

BARC Bush Nippers Program

Thompsons Beach Cobram is set to host the Nippers Education Program for the second consecutive year, thanks to the collaborative efforts of Life Saving Victoria (LSV), Moira Shire Council, and Barooga Aquatic and Recreation Centre.

Developed by LSV in response to the Victorian Government’s emphasis on swimming and water safety in the curriculum, Bush Nippers aims to extend its reach to children residing away from the coast. The program provides a unique educational experience, fostering lifesaving and water safety skills tailored to open water environments, including rivers.

Structured according to participants’ ages and abilities, the program employs a progressive approach, teaching essential water safety and lifesaving skills through enjoyable and interactive activities.
