Information on Supervision of Children in the Pool for parents and guardians
Parents / Guardian role whilst your child is in and out of the class
Supervision of children is very important. Barooga Aquatic and Recreation Centre has adopted Lifesaving Victoria’s Watch around Water Policies.
Watch Around Water (WAW) is a campaign educating the public about active supervision, and encouraging parents / guardians to take on the responsibility of this role while visiting aquatic facilities.
The campaign aim is to reduce the number of fatal and non-fatal drowning incidents and associated injuries in public aquatic facilities within the 0-14 year age group.
Parents / Guardians must arrive with their child / children and report to reception and scan into the centre before entering the swimming pool area. If a parent or guardian is not present your child will be declined entry beyond the reception area.
